IDPH requires the assistance of an experienced buidling construction project manager.   The selected contractor will possess licensure as a Professional Engineer or Registered Architect in Illinois and demonstrated experience planning, constructing and commissioning large commercial buildings with preference for experience constructing laboratory or clinical space.  IDPH desires the candidate to possess LEED certification.  IDPH desires to begin preliminary scoping of a new state-of-the-art laboratory in the Chicago metro area.  The duration of the contract is commensurate with the length of the project, but not less than 12 months.

Job Responsibilities

  • Act as owner's representative while engaging external partners
  • Complete site selection analysis and present findings to Director's Office
  • Update existing scoping and requirements for IDPH laboratory needs
  • Assist IDPH leadership in engaging the Capital Development Board for project commencement
  • Assist IDPH leadership in owner's meetings with Capital Development Board and selected A&E firms
  • Provide plan review, site observation and quality assurance services to IDPH
  • Participate in project review meetings during design and construction phases
  • Assist IDPH in assessing LEED goals for construction and in the commissioning process   

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Licensed as Professional Engineer or Registered Architect in Illinois
  • Possession of LEED certification desired

Work Hours:  Monday - Friday 8:30 am - 5:00 pm
