Position Overview:
We invite qualified applicants to apply for the position which serves as an Office Associate in the Files Section of the Administrative Services Division at State Retirement Systems (SRS). This position is responsible for organizing paperwork into batches to scan into a centralized database to view member records and verifying these records for quality assurance purposes. This position is also responsible for entering member nominated beneficiary information and preparing and mailing member information/application packets. The ideal candidate should be self-motivated, a quick learner, and have a positive attitude. SRS is conveniently located on the west side of Springfield with free parking on-site.
Position Essential Functions
1. Reviews and prepares correspondence for imaging.
2. Reviews and verifies legal beneficiary documents, employing judgment in applying policies and procedures.
3. Monitors Files Section e-mail in-box.
4. Serves as back-up mail and delivery messenger.
5. Maintains and makes corrections to the File Location System based on twice daily computer generated "pull" lists.
6. Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
Minimum Qualifications
1. Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of high school.
2. Requires two years of office experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Requires extensive knowledge of office practices, procedures and programs.
- Requires working knowledge of alpha-numeric sequencing.
Conditions of Employment
- Requires a valid Driver's License.
- Requires ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform arduous labor.
