Position Overview
The Office of Business Services is seeking to hire a pressman who reviews job requests for Wet/Press Unit jobs to determine requirements for setup of offset printing equipment as well as finishing bindery equipment. This individual receives training in operation of large-scale printing and operates and maintains complex high-volume copiers.
Essential Functions
- Serves as a Pressman for the Office Business Services, Wet/Press Unit.
- Receives training in operation of large-scale printing.
- Operates and maintains complex high-volume copiers.
- Maintains a safe and orderly work area, ensuring it is clean and organized daily.
- Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of duties enumerated above.
Minimum Qualifications
- Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of high school.
Preferred Qualifications
- Two (2) years of experience utilizing skill and dexterity in the operation of mechanical printing equipment for a public or private organization.
- Two (2) years of experience utilizing skill and dexterity in the operation of mechanical bindery equipment for a public or private organization.
- Two (2) years of experience working with mechanical printing equipment operation principles and safety procedures.
- Two (2) years of experience following oral and written instructions.
- Two (2) years of experience working with mathematics for a public or private organization.
- Two (2) years of experience developing and maintaining cooperative working relationships.
Conditions of Employment
- Requires the ability to stand for a significant period and lift full boxes of material weighing as much as 50 lbs.
