Career Counseling Services
State government career counseling services are provided by CMS Assessment Centers virtually, by mail or via email. Career counseling staff work with you to evaluate your education and experience as well as your employment interests/preferences; salary expectations and geographical location to determine the titles that are the best fit for you. The career counselor will then provide you with a list of potential state position titles for which you may qualify.
Virtual Counseling:
Virtual Counseling is available upon email request. You must complete the resume then attach it to an email and send it to: CMS.CounselingByEmail@Illinois.gov
In the subject line, please enter “Virtual Counseling Request”. Please be sure to indicate your employment preferences, geographic preferences and salary requirements in the body of the email.
Counseling by Email:
