Position Overview

Under general supervision, performs technical accounting work in preparing and processing financial documents including vouchers and invoices utilizing computerized database and accounting systems; examines and analyzes financial files, documents and reports to verify accuracy and initiates correction action; posts to statewide computerized accounting system and reconciles; maintains property control accounting systems and assists in annual inventory. Serves as back-up to payroll/timekeeping coordinator. 

Job Responsibilities

  1. Performs technical accounting work in preparing and processing financial documents including vouchers and invoices utilizing computerized database and accounting system.
  2. Maintains property control accounting systems.
  3. Serves as back-up to payroll/timekeeping coordinator and Trust Fund Officer.
  4. Receives, date stamps and distributes incoming mail for business office staff.
  5. Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.

Minimum Qualifications

  1. Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of two years of college and completion of an approved training course or three years of related clerical bookkeeping experience.

Conditions of Employment

  1. Requires the ability to meet all agency vaccine/health-related policies and guidance.
  2. Requires the ability to pass the IDHS background check.
  3. Requires ability to pass a drug screen for drugs prohibited from recreational use under Illinois Law.
