Position Overview
Under general supervision of the Clinical Director and under clinical supervision the chief Social Worker, engages in professional social work services involving the application of social work principles and techniques in the evaluation, problem identification and treatment of forensically hospitalized adults manifesting complex emotional and psycho-social disorders. Gathers information and services to facilitate patient treatment and discharge. Serves as an advocate for the patient and as a resource for other members of the treatment team.
Job Responsibilities
- Engages in professional social work services involving the application of social work principles and techniques in the evaluation, problem identification and treatment of forensically hospitalized adults manifesting complex emotional and psycho-social disorders. Responsible for an assigned caseload of forensic patients.
- Evaluates clinical problems of patients.
- Serves as an advocate for the patient and as a resource for other members of the treatment team. Develops and recommends treatment strategies, including group, individual and psycho-social education.
- As part of a treatment team, identifies options for best practice treatment interventions in lieu of restraints/seclusions.
- Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
Minimum Qualifications
- Requires a master’s degree in social work from a recognized college or university supplemented by one year of professional social work experience in the evaluation and treatment/habilitation of mentally ill, developmentally disabled or other disabled persons.

Conditions of Employment
- Requires the ability to meet all agency vaccine/health-related policies and guidance.
- Requires the ability to pass the IDHS background check.
- Requires ability to pass a drug screen for drugs prohibited from recreational use under Illinois Law.
Work Hours: 8:00am - 4:30pm; Monday - Friday
