Position Overview
Under direct supervision, performs a variety of semi-skilled duties in the operation of various trucks, automobiles, and related equipment; lifts heavy supplies; makes minor repairs or adjustments to equipment; performs minor maintenance on vehicles.
Job Responsibilities
1. Performs a variety of semi-skilled duties in the operation of various trucks, automobiles and related equipment.
2. Performs a variety of routine manual or semi-skilled tasks as directed including loading and unloading of vehicles operated.
3. Makes minor repairs or adjustments to equipment.
4. Performs minor maintenance on vehicles (i.e.: lubricates lifts, checks fluid levels, keeps vehicles clean and food trunk disinfected.
5. Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
Minimum Qualifications
- Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of high school.
- Requires one year’s experience in performing a variety of semiskilled mechanical and manual tasks in the maintenance and operation of automotive or related maintenance equipment.
- Requires possession of a valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class B which includes operation of air brakes.
Conditions of Employment
- Requires ability to travel.
- Requires the ability to lift heavy supplies, bending, stooping, climbing, and walking.
- Requires the ability to meet all agency vaccine/health-related policies and guidance.
- Requires ability to pass the IDHS background check.
- Requires ability to pass a drug screen. On January 1, 2020, the Cannabis Regulation and Tax Act made it legal for residents over the age of 21 to produce, consume and sell cannabis in Illinois. Please note that although the law has changed, the Department will continue to enforce the Department’s zero tolerance Drug Testing policy. The use of unauthorized drugs, including cannabis, by an employee, regardless of the position held is prohibited.
Work Hours: Various shifts. See below:
(1) 10:00A-6:30P Monday-Tuesday, 6:30A-3:00P Wednesday, Saturday-Sunday. Off days: Thursday-Friday
