Position Overview
The Division of Developmental Disabilities is seeking to hire an Office Administrator III for the Choate Mental Health and Developmental Center located in Anna, Illinois to serve as the Facility Workers’ Compensation Coordinator. Gathers information to prepare work-related injury reports. Serves as working supervisor. Monitors, enters and directs the processing and/or transmitting of payroll data. Prepares and maintains employee work schedules.
Job Responsibilities
- Serves as the Facility Workers’ Compensation Coordinator.
- Serves as working supervisor.
- Monitors, enters, and directs the processing and/or transmitting of payroll data, employee personnel transactions, and group insurance information to Central Payroll Office in Springfield.
- Completes payroll forms from the State Employees’ Retirement System for retirees and employees applying for disability.
- Prepares and maintains employee work schedules and verifies they are entered into the facility timekeeping system.
- Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
Minimum Qualifications
- Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of two years of study at a secretarial/business college and one year of office experience.
OR
Completion of high school and three years of Office Assistant experience.
OR
Three years independent business experience.
2. Requires the ability to keyboard accurately at a rate of 30 wpm.
Preferred Qualifications
- Five (5) years of professional experience monitoring, entering, and directing the processing and/or transmitting of payroll data for a public or private organization.
- Three (3) years of professional experience supervising staff, assigning, and reviewing work, providing guidance and training for a public or private organization.
- Three (3) years of professional experience working in a public or private organization maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive information with professionalism.
- Three (3) years of professional experience working with Worker’s Compensation claims for a public or private organization.
- Two (2) years of professional experience preparing and maintaining employee work schedules.
- Five (5) years of basic proficiency using personal computers, including Microsoft, Word and Excel.
Conditions of Employment
- Requires ability to operate manual and automated office equipment.
- Requires ability to work after business hours, weekends and holidays.
- Requires the ability to travel.
- Requires the ability to meet all agency vaccine/health-related policies and guidance.
- Requires the ability to pass the IDHS background check.
- Requires ability to pass a drug screen for drugs prohibited from recreational use under Illinois Law.
