Position Overview

The Illinois Department of Children and Family Services is seeking an organized, professional, and results oriented individual to serve as Associate Regional Administrator of Permanency Services. Subject to management approval, this position will oversee Area Administrators through the region who are responsible for the oversight of Permanency Team Supervisors involved in the provision of comprehensive child welfare services within the region. The position provides high level consultation to the Regional Administrator in all areas of permanency services. This position provides a great opportunity for someone who is passionate about children and interested in being a leader in the administration of child welfare services. Essential Functions

  • As Associate Regional Administrator for Permanency Services, formulates, designs, and directs the implementation of policies and procedures regarding the provision of regional permanency services for the Department
  • Directs, plans, and manages regional permanency programs, providing expertise and oversight of services and systems
  • Serves as full line supervisor
  • Represents the Department before other state and federal agencies, private organizations, elected officials, courts, and lay groups with regard to child welfare issues impacting permanency and human trafficking programs
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Requires an MSW or master’s degree in a related human services field, in business administration, or a juris doctorate.
  • Requires four years of progressively responsible administrative child welfare experience with an MSW OR five years of progressively responsible administrative child welfare experience with a master’s degree in a related human services field, in business administration, or a juris doctorate.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5 years of experience managing or conducting child welfare casework services.
  • 3 years of experience supervising professional staff in a public or business organization.
  • 3 years of professional experience in the oversight of a large program with multiple sites.
  • 3 years of experience providing professional consultation regarding program services and casework issues to professional level staff.
  • 3 years of professional experience in the development and implementation of policies and procedures.
  • 3 years of professional experience conducting planning activities for a social work program on a regional or statewide basis in a management capacity.
  • 3 years of professional experience conducting community outreach as a representative of a public or business organization.
