Essential Functions
1. Under immediate supervision and on a temporary basis not to exceed 6 months, assists site interpreters in delivering the site’s interpretive programs in all weather conditions:
- Greets visitors
- Conducts foot tours
- Helps set up and maintain site exhibits and special events
- Distributes literature
- Responds to questions from public
- Helps set up tables, chairs, displays, and equipment for special events and craft demonstrations
- Assists in the research and development of interpretive programs and materials
- Dresses and interprets in provided period correct attire
- Assists in outreach programming
- Participates in care of period agricultural and livestock programs
- Travels to other sites as needed
2. Assists site staff in maintenance of grounds:
- Maintain clean, safe, and attractive public use areas
- Cuts grass, weeds, and brush
- Rakes lawns
- Trims, cuts and waters trees and shrubbery
- Sweeps sidewalks
- Applies patches to concrete and asphalt road surfaces
- Maintains tools and equipment including cleaning and repairing hand tools
- Paints and repairs equipment
- Transports machinery to garage for major repairs
- May make periodic rounds, watching for prowlers, fires, or other causes which might endanger, or result in, loss or damage of property
- Directs traffic as required
3. Performs routine housekeeping and janitorial duties:
- Dusts furniture
- Vacuums
- Pick-up trash
- Window washes
- Cleans exhibits and displays
- Cleans and disinfects restrooms
- Replace supplies
- Mops and cleans floors
4. Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
Minimum Qualifications
Requires knowledge, skills, and mental development equivalent to completion of eight years of elementary school.

4. Ability to travel as needed
5. Ability to stand for long period of time, climb stairs or ladders, stoop, bend, kneel and lift up to 60 llbs.
6. Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
7. Ability to work in a primitive environment or outdoors and withstand exposure to the elements on a year- round basis.
8. Ability to walk over rough or broken terrain.
9. Must be willing to wear period clothing and present living history
