Position Overview

Under administrative direction, coordinates the overall function of the delivery of programs and services for individuals in multiple cottages at Murray Developmental Center. Supervises and directs activities of treatment teams to ensure individuals health/medical needs are met; provides program training and direction for staff assigned; directs treatment teams in formulating and implementing treatment programs for assigned individuals; Serves as a member of the Interdisciplinary Team to ensure compliance with applicable department rules and regulations, Public Health standards, accreditation standards, Murray and Department policies, procedures, forms and guidelines.

Job Responsibilities

1. Provides administrative direction and support to subordinates and assigns multiple cottage treatment
teams to specific caseloads. Monitors staff to ensure that programs arc developed and implemented
according to center guidelines.

 

2. Serves as a working supervisor.

 

3. Assists higher level administrators on administrative matters and program development and evaluations.
Makes recommendations about staffing requirements, organization, and other personnel matters. Attends
management meetings.

 

4. Serves as a member of the Interdisciplinary Teams.

 

5. Reviews forms, logs and other reports ensuring information is accurate and is submitted in a timely
manner.

 

6. Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.

Minimum Qualifications

1. Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to either (1) a master's degree in administration, education or the behavioral sciences, and one year of professional experience in or applicable to the provision of therapeutic patient servies for persons with mental illness or intellectual disabilites, and successful completion of a comprehensive training progam at the Mental Health Administrator Trainee level, OR (2) one year of administrative experience in, or applicable to the planning, formulation and implementation of therapeutic and rehabilitative treatment programs.

2. Requires ability to pass the IDHS background check.

3. Requires ability to pass a drug screen. On January 1, 2020, the Cannabis Regulation and Tax Act made it legal for residents over the age of 21 to produce, consume and sell cannabis in Illinois. Please note that although the law has changed, the Department will continue to enforce the Department’s zero tolerance Drug Testing policy.
