Job Responsibilities
Under direct supervision, serves as a lead worker to lower level staff on an assigned shift; provides physical support with personal care services to individuals; conducts individual and group programs; verifies individual safety and protection through monitoring and supervision; teaches and directs individuals in the maintenance of a clean, safe and secure environment.
SPECIFICALLY:
30% Serves as a lead worker to lower level staff on an assigned shift; assigns and reviews work; provides guidance and training to assigned staff; advises immediate supervisor regarding performance of staff.
15% Provides physical support with personal care services to individuals; assists and encourages individuals to become more independent in daily living activities; teaches basic personal care tasks; assists with ambulation and various other basic physical techniques; monitors individuals during crisis situations and provides intervention ie. limits setting redirection, implements time out and full length restraints; assists with transport/lifting of immobile/aggressive individuals.
15% Conducts individual and group programs; demonstrates and directs individuals in learning recreational, occupational, and social activities; provides individual assistance to individuals in conjunction with educational programs.
15% Verifies individual safety and protection through monitoring and supervision; monitors and directs individuals during activities on the programmatic unit and throughout the center's buildings; escorts individuals on and off-center grounds.
Job Responsibilities (continued)
10% Teaches and directs individuals in the maintenance of a clean, safe, and secure environment; performs limited housekeeping functions including spot mopping, emptying trash, and cleaning areas following accidents; monitors and reports breaches of security and the need for building repair or replacement of supplies and equipment.
5% Attends and completes scheduled training as required by Department of Human Service (OHS), the center and the programmatic unit.
5% Assess/evaluates daily and projected staff coverage needs; implements voluntary, mandatory. call back procedures, details staff and reviews priorities; advises other supervisory staff regarding employee problems with dependability and abuse of time; processes employee requests for bumps/displacements and filling of vacancies; prepares daily, monthly, and quarterly reports. Makes staff assignments to verify adequate coverage and meets program needs; prepares and distributes monthly work schedules, daily staff attendance reports, shift action reports and overtime list/logs.
5% Performs other duties as assigned or required which are reasonably within the scope of duties enumerated above.
Minimum Qualifications
Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of high school. Requires successful completion of an approved training program and one year experience in, or applicable to the care, treatment and development of individuals with mental illness or developmental disabilities.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Requires skill and ability to apply advanced or specialized procedures and techniques relative to the provisions of personal and nursing care services, treatment, development, and habilitation of residents. Requires working knowledge of Human Services rules and established individual treatment and development programs. Requires ability to function in an advanced or leadership capacity with subordinate staff members.
Work Hours: 2:00 PM - 10:15 PM
