Job Responsibilities
- Serves as monitor of private agencies that provide implementation of Independent Living Operations/Transitional
Living Programs (ILO/TLP); drives to on-site locations to provide consultation and direction to private agency staff
regarding ILO/TLP for the Department of Children and Family Services; monitors to ensure that private agencies are
in compliance with DCFS rules, policies, and mandates; on an as-needed basis, attends and provides input into
staffings; provides interpretation of the DCFS contract; reviews selected client files on a monthly basis; provides ILO/
TLP providers with statistics and information regarding program performance; completes a specified number of visits
to ILO launch locations.
- Works with ILO/TLP agencies to develop systems to address problematic issues; as deemed appropriate, makes
recommendations for corrective action and schedules additional visits as needed to provide technical assistance in
addressing issues; records all ILO/TLP court, Administrative Case Review, and Significant Event Report information
on appropriate grids for review; communicates to management all chronic and/or critical private agency issues;
monitors to ensure agencies implement corrective action plans and move towards achievement of Department goals
and objectives; monitors to ensure that priority Significant Event Reports are entered within 24 hours.
- Develops, maintains, and distributes to appropriate purchase of service (POS) and DCFS staff profiles of all ILO/
TLP providers; prepares and submits to supervisor, Chief Executive Officers, and Program Managers of ILO/TLP
agencies monthly reports on assigned agencies; develops weekly itineraries and provides to management.
- Prepares necessary documents for evaluating agency services; prepares other statistical and narrative reports as
requested, providing regular agency updates; conducts special projects, as assigned.
- Provides assistance in the scheduling and coordination of quarterly meetings to provide needed information and
resources to providers; provides ILO/TLP providers with quarterly statistics and information regarding performance.
- Reviews CYCIS data to ensure accuracy of information regarding client living arrangements; maintains ILO/TLP
agency files, monitoring to ensure appropriate information is retained and maintained in a proper manner.
- Organizes monthly ILO/TLP meetings; attends and provides input into ILO/TLP meetings, technical assistance meetings, in-service trainings, and other meetings and conferences, as directed; attends clinical staffing's as assigned.
- Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated
above.
Minimum Qualifications
- Preferably requires a master’s degree in social work; or a master’s degree in a related human service field, supplemented by one year of directly related professional casework/case management experience; or requires a bachelor’s degree in social work and one year of directly related professional casework/case management experience; or requires a bachelor’s degree in a related human service field and two years of directly related professional casework/case management experience.
- The college or university issuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree must be accredited, and the degree program in social work must be approved by the Council on Social Work Education. The directly related professional casework/case management experience must be related to family preservation, family reunification, adoption, youth development, counseling, and advocacy services or a related field.
