Position Overview

Under general supervision, serves as unit security designated lead worker on an assigned shift on an assigned unit; supervises the providing of care and security staff; maintains safety and security for patients and staff and of the work area; oversees and coordinates off-unit patient movements, conduct activities and basic care provided to patients; responds to and coordinates emergency situations. Participates in overall care and treatment of patients; provides subprofessional counseling; Monitors unit operations from the stem observation areas. Prepares various information reports. Conducts formal classroom training for trainees and other new staff.

Job Responsibilities

1.  Serves as designated lead worker.

 

2.  Serves as unit security on an assigned shift on an assigned unit.

 

3.  Monitors unit operations from the stem observation areas.

 

4.  Responds to and coordinates emergency situations.

 

5.  Prepares various information reports. Completes unit logs, shift reports, behavior information reports and behavior incident summaries.

 

6.  Participates in overall care and treatment of patients.

 

7.  Conducts formal classroom training for trainees and other new staff.

 

8.  Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.

Minimum Qualifications

  1. Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of high school.
  2. Requires two years experience as a Security Therapy Aide, including successful completion of an approved Security Therapy Aide Training Program or equivalent experience.

Work Hours:  Odd months: 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM; Even months: 3:00 PM - 11:00PM
