Position Overview

Under general supervision, performs technical accounting work in verifying a variety of complex financial documents; serves as Commodity Control Coordinator for General, Mechanical, Office Supply, Pharmacy and Central Supply stores. Serves as lead worker to lower level staff. Batches all requisitions, purchase orders, authorizations and print orders for computer entry. Assists supervisor in various accounting functions. Prepares monthly fund reconciliation statements and commodity control reports.

Job Responsibilities

1. Performs technical accounting work in verifying a variety of complex financial documents, relative to serving as Commodity Control Coordinator for General, Mechanical, Office Supply, Pharmacy and Central Supply stores.

 

2. Serves as designated lead worker to lower level staff.

 

3. Batches all requisitions, purchase orders, authorizations and print orders for computer entry.

 

4. Assists supervisor in various accounting functions, i.e. posts entries to general ledgers, reconciles Trust fund, Workshop Fund, checks figures, balances, totals, etc.  Serves as head of accounting in the absence of supervisor.

 

5. Prepares monthly fund reconciliation statements, reconciles monthly bank statements on Trust Fund, Amusement Fund, Patient Travel Fund and Business Office petty cash.

 

6. Prepares commodity control reports for budget information; maintains various information such as how much was spent on a certain commodity, how much on hand, how much ordered, etc.

 

7. Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.

Minimum Qualifications

  1. Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of two years of college and completion of an approved training course or three years of related clerical bookkeeping experience.

  2. Requires ability to pass the IDHS background check.
