Position Overview

The Accountant Advanced position within the Office of Fiscal Management at the Illinois Criminal Justice Information Authority is responsible for preparing, reconciling, and monitoring monthly financial reports, compiles internal financial data and creates custom financial reports to assist Financial Reporting Manager and CFO. This person will also act as the liaison between auditor firms and the Authority, assist in the preparation and production of the Illinois State Legislature (ISL) reports and books, and develop the annual plan for Business Enterprise Program (BEP) and completes reporting. Minimum Qualifications
- Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of four years college, with courses in business administration and accounting.
- Requires two years of professional experience in accounting, external auditing, budgetary planning and control or public accounting.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prefers 2 years extensive knowledge of accounting principles, methods and procedures.
- Prefers 3 years of extensive experience in tracking and accounting for grant-related administrative funds.
- Prefers 3 years of working knowledge of how to use Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems such as SAP, PeopleSoft or Oracle.
- Prefers 3 years of experience preparing comprehensive accounting, payroll, and account reconciliation reports utilizing Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, and Power Point.
- Prefers 2 years of experience identifying issues and constraints and to creatively resolve the issues within the rules.
- Prefers 2 years of experience reviewing detailed work including written and numerical data and to make calculations rapidly and accurately.
- Prefers 3 years of experience and ability to evaluate more difficult accounting problems and to analyze and interpret complex accounting records.
- Prefers 3 years of experience establishing and maintaining satisfactory working relationships and to deal with issues tactfully, collaboratively and with high integrity.
Conditions of Employment

- Requires ability to travel in the performance of duties, with overnight stays as appropriate.
