Position Overview
We are currently looking for an Administrative Assistant to be the administrative anchor of our Compliance and Program Integrity unit within Get Covered Illinois. This will be an integral role in the development and operations of our Compliance and Program Integrity unit which covers areas of compliance and appeals. Under the general direction of the Deputy Director of Compliance and Program Integrity this position will serve as a staff assistant and perform a variety of administrative functions. Will develop and install procedures to maintain an effective system for maintenance of section records and for efficient coordination of procedures hearings and legal issues as well as other duties as listed in the posting. Essential Functions
• As a staff assistant to the Deputy Director of Compliance and Program Integrity, participates in analyzing existing operations and systems for maintenance of section records and efficient coordination of hearings and legal issues.
• Assists in effecting sound administrative operations through review of all incoming correspondence and referring to the appropriate staff attorney and Appeals Program analysts.
• Gathers background information from a variety of sources to assist the Deputy Director of Compliance and Program Integrity in decision making matters and in preparation of speeches, reports, news releases and legislative proposals.
• Answers telephone calls, receives visitors, maintains schedules, makes appointments and travel arrangements for the Compliance and Program Integrity and Appeals Program.
• Documents and monitors overall case load of the Compliance and Program Integrity and Appeals Programs.
• Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
Minimum Qualifications
• Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of four (4) years of college, preferably with courses in public or business administration.
• Requires two (2) years of professional experience in a public or private organization.
Preferred Qualifications
• Prefers at least two (2) years of experience with appeals and compliance processes.
• Prefers at least two (2) years of experience analyzing administrative programs and adopting effective courses of action.
• Prefers at least two (2) years of experience utilizing strong interpersonal relations skills to maintain cooperative working relationships with internal staff and external contacts.
• Prefers at least two (2) years of demonstrated oral and written communication skills.
• Prefers at least two (2) years of experience utilizing Microsoft Office products or equivalent.
• Prefers at least one (1) year of experience with the Affordable Care Act.
• Prefers at least one (1) year of experience organizing facts and findings and presenting such information in clear and concise form.
• Prefers at least one (1) year of experience demonstrating the ability to exercise a high degree of initiative and resourcefulness in the development and completion of work projects.
Conditions of Employment

• Requires ability to travel in the performance of duties, with overnight stays as appropriate.
