This is a remote work position, but candidate may choose to work at ICJIA’s downtown Chicago office during the agency’s regular business hours Monday thru Friday (8:30 A.M. - 5:00 P.M.) pending availability.

 

This is a full-time position. The selected candidate must work 37.5 hours per week. The selected candidate will start as soon as possible.

 

This position is TEMPORARY and does NOT include state benefits.

Position Overview

ICJIA is looking for a dynamic intern who will work in this state grant program to expand prison diversion programs and improve equitable access to interventions for justice-impacted individuals in partnership with the Oversight Board and grantee site network.

Essential Function

  • Compile, analyze, and present data and information in support of policy and program development, including providing technical assistance to grantee sites.
  • Assist with planning, execution, and follow-up of stakeholder meetings (e.g., Oversight Board, committees, sites).
  • Participate in other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to the completion of high school and active enrollment at a college.
  • Requires no previous work experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prefers a minimum of one year of experience communicating orally and in writing.
  • Prefers a minimum of two years of experience using Microsoft Office software.
  • Prefers a minimum of six months experience using scientific research methods.
  • Prefers a minimum of one year of experience working as a team on research projects.
  • Prefers experience writing using APA (American Physiological Association) style of the 7th Edition APA Publication.

Employment Conditions

  • Must be able to pass a background check.
  • Must commit to a minimum internship duration of 15 hours per week and 2 months.
