The Illinois Department of Public Health has received grant dollars from the federal government to respond to COVID and to put in place additional initiatives, programs, and resources for public health infrastructure in Illinois. IDPH is seeking dedicated staff to work with the ARPA Workgroup to provide coordination amongst the offices that comprise the ARPA Workgroup for this historic state project.

Job Responsibilities

  • Will report directly to the Assistant Director of the Illinois Department of Public Health to coordinate internal programmatic processes across IDPH while supporting continuity with IDPH offices.
  • Serves as  a resource of sound judgment for the ARPA Workgroup to assist in fidelity to programmatic initiatives.
  • Provides guidance to offices' Deputy Directors in support of their programmatic initiatives.
  • Monitors relevant programmatic progress to ensure fidelity to approved initiatives.
  • Monitor relevant programmatic initiatives to ensure active progress towards milestones.
  • May work with other State agencies regarding potential coordination with those agencies and possible cross-initiative opportunities.


Minimum Requirements

  • Requires a MBA, MPA, or MPH degree.
  • Requires 4 years or more of experience in project coordination and management.
  • Requires experience in the development and/or application of simple electronic tracking tools.
  • Requires the ability to work well with high level managers under high pressure conditions.

Work Hours:  Monday through Friday 8:30 am -5:00 pm 
Work Location: Work may be performed remotely from any location.
