Position Overivew

Under general direction, performs responsible managerial duties in the administration of housekeeping. Serves as working supervisor. Supervises and directs housekeeping/linen/infectious medical waste removal through subordinate staff. Verifies compliance with all regulatory agencies' standards and continuous quality improvement. Orders and arranges for repairs and maintenance of housekeeping/linen supplies and equipment. Performs contract monitor duties for applicable contracts

Job Responsibilities

30% 1. Serves as working supervisor.

 

20% 2. Initiates requisitions and serves as contract monitor for housekeeping supplies and equipment repairs.

 

15% 3. Serves as a member of the preventative maintenance and environmental/safety improvement committee.

 

10% 4. Interprets, explains, implements and recommends revisions to facility policies and procedures as they relate to housekeeping services.

 

10% 5. Trains subordinate staff on the usage of new equipment functions.

 

 5% 6. Responds to housekeeping emergency situations on 24-hour basis by responding to crisis.

 

 5% 7. Participates in all Department of Human Services (DHS) and Chicago-Read Mental Health Center (CRMHC) mandatory training.

 

 5% 8. Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties as enumerated above.

Minimum Qualifications

  1. Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of four years of college with a major in business administration or a related field.
  1. Requires two years professional business experience such as might be obtained as a Business Administrative Specialist; or successful completion of a training course approved by the agency.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

 

  • Prefers Two (2) years of business experience in housekeeping/sanitation programs.
