The Illinois Department of Public Health seeks an attorney to assist with Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests and be part of the COVID-19 response team.

Job Responsibilities

  • Research and respond to FOIA requests on a daily and weekly basis in a timely manner.
  • Ensure tracking and orginization aligns with FOIA productions.
  • Provide support with transactional work related to COVID-19 that may include contracts, intergovernmental agreements, leases and administrative rules, legal reasearch or other duties as assigned.  
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with colleagues and management on work assignments and priorities.

Minimum Requirements

  • Requires a Law Degree from an accredited entity.
  • Requires to be licensed to practice law in the State of Illinois.
  • Requires relevant FOIA experience including researching and responding to FOIA requests.
  • Prefers a background in public health or health care is a plus.

Work Hours:  Monday - Friday 8:30 am - 5:00 pm
