ICJIA is looking for a summer community engagement specialist to aid in the execution of our statewide community awareness campaign. Applicants should have an interest in community engagement, social media communications, and project management. The duties and responsibilities may include keeping track of community issues, such as development and crime, and working with community members to increase engagement in initiatives. As part of your job may you hold community meetings, organize outreach events to promote your program, and create reports on behalf of your agency or organization.

ICJIA maintains a fast paced, high volume work environment. 

Requires the ability to travel and work weekends.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Being a self-starter with a willingness to increase citizen engagement, strong written and verbal communication skills, experience or interest in governance, and have a creative approach to problem-solving are all essential parts of the position.  Digital competency and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment are key. The candidate will need to have social media literacy, organizational skills and the ability to think critically and creatively. The candidate will also have experience in communications, community engagement and project management experience.

Education Degree

High School Diploma with some college
