Position Overview

Under direction of the Employment Selection and Leaves Administrator, drives or travels to recruitment functions, job fairs, and career days to promote employment with the Department; explains applicable rules, policies, or methods to candidates; provides input into the development of agency recruitment plans and materials; networks through industry contacts, social media, colleges/universities, other state agencies, etc.; develops and tracks measurable facets of recruiting and hiring statistics; coordinates and implements recruiting initiatives and conducts regular follow up with contacts, candidates, etc.; prepares reports and correspondence related to interviewing and recruitment activities and issues; maintains and monitors the recruitment/employment mailbox; translates and interprets, both orally and in writing, for Spanish speaking clients.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Drives or travels to recruitment functions, job fairs, and career days to promote employment with the Department.
  2. Provides input into the development of agency recruitment plans and materials; networks through industry contacts, social media, colleges/universities, other state agencies, etc. 
  3. Prepares reports and correspondence related to interviewing and recruitment activities and issues.  
  4. Translates and interprets, both orally and in writing, for Spanish speaking clients regarding employment, services available, and the proper completion of forms.
  5. Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.

Minimum Qualifications

Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of four years of college and one year of professional experience, preferably in human resources; requires ability to use computer systems, software, templates, or other guides; requires travel, including overnight travel, and the possession of a valid driver’s license; requires ability to work hours outside standard shift; requires certification as a Rutan interviewer or ability to attain Rutan certification; requires ability to speak and write Spanish at a colloquial skill level.
