Position Overview
Get covered Illinois is currently seeking a marketplace digital content administrator to take responsibility for developing and implementing strategies and work plans for digital communications and marketing efforts that educate the public about the benefits of GCI, specifically social media and video production. This position will also provide strategic planning and implementation for GCI's media relations activities. Essential Functions
• Under general direction of the State-Based Marketplace Communications and Marketing Director, serves as Marketplace Communications Manager for the State-Based Marketplace Division.
• Steers Get Covered Illinois’s multimedia communication efforts.
• Serves as the internal lead on communications policy to execute the broader Get Covered Illinois strategic plan.
• Manages communications needs within Get Covered Illinois strategic initiatives.
• Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
Minimum Qualifications
• Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of four (4) years of college, preferably with courses in business or public administration.
• Requires two (2) years of responsible administrative experience in a public or business organization.
Preferred Qualifications
• Prefers prior experience equivalent to two (2) years successfully working with the press including pitching stories to the press, responding to press inquiries, providing on-the-record comments, and building and sustaining positive relationships with local media.
• Prefers prior experience equivalent to two (2) years developing and implementing data-driven strategy and engaging content for digital media platforms including but not limited to websites, social media like Facebook, X, Instagram, LinkedIn, and emails/newsletters.
• Prefers three (3) years of experience overseeing communications for a company, organization, or similar experience at a news media organization, including experience developing strategic communication plans.
• Prefers three (3) years of experience successfully developing, reviewing, and revising reports, press releases, presentation, and marketing materials.
• Prefers strong writing, editing, and communication skills.
• Prefers intermediate graphic design and video production and editing skills.
• Prefers three (3) years of experience working with customer relationship management software and other email and marketing tools.
• Prefers experience working with and communicating to multilingual, diverse communities.
• Prefers knowledge of health care field and experience in health care or health insurance.
Specialized Skills
• Requires prior experience equivalent to two (2) years successfully working with the press including pitching stories to the press, responding to press inquiries, providing on-the-record comments, and building and sustaining positive relationships with local media.

Conditions of Employment
