Job Posting Details:

The Department of Healthcare and Family Services, Division of Child Suppot Services is seeking a motivated individual to join our Cook Account Maintenance Unit in the role of Office Administrator IV. The ideal candidate should possess the knowledge, skills and mental development equivalent to the completion of two years of secretarial/business college and two years office experience. The successful candidate requires extensive knowledge of office procedures and programs, elementary mathematics and grammar; requires ability to direct and supervise non-professional staff.  Requires the ability to travel and pass a national background check.

Job Responsibilities

  • Serves as a working supervisor
  • Directs and evaluates the continuing review of income withholding cases that indicate a delinquency in the amount of withheld court-ordered child support
  • Plans, directs, and evaluates clerical team operations 
  • Performs office management functions
  • Directs and monitors the keying of pre-coded data into the computerized KIDS from various sources
  • Organizes, reviews, and establishes clerical workload assignments
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above

Minimum Qualifications

  • Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to the completion of two years’ study at a secretarial/business college and two years’ office experience; or completion of high school and four years’ Office Assistant experience; or four years’ independent business experience

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Requires working knowledge of the agency’s program operations and policies
  • Requires extensive knowledge of office procedures and programs, elementary mathematics and grammar
  • Requires the ability to direct and supervise the work of a non-professional staff
