Job Responsibilities

  • Performs a variety of complex, specialized clerical information and assistance in keyboarding, record processing, secretarial and general office support functions for processing all cases of discrimination investigated by the Department's Employment unit and the Fair Housing unit.
    • Keyboards a variety of legal documents including Terms of Settlement, Dismissals, Withdrawal Forms, Lack of Substantial Evidence notice, and Substantial Evidence notice, etc. and proofreads for accuracy utilizing an understanding of specialized legal terms.
  • Keyboards, copies and mails/serves notices of charge on Respondents and Complainants, along with other required materials for processing of charges for the Department's Employment unit and the Fair Housing unit.
  • Provides clerical office support to the unit supervisor and staff in performing general duties such as completing memos, investigation reports, letters, department reports and handling Case Disposition Unit mail.
    • Work involves related steps, processes and/or methods requiring application of agency policies and procedures.
  • Operates common office equipment such as computer, copier, fax and scanner.
    • Duplicates all correspondence for section and division.
    • Acts in a relief capacity at the reception desk for the agency.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or required which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.

Physical Requirements

Requires skill in keyboarding accurately at 45 WPM.

Employment Conditions

  • Requires the ability to pass a background check.
  • Requires ability to obtain licensure as a notary public.

Education Degree

  • Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of high school and two years of office experience.
