Job Responsibilities
The Illinois Department of Children and Family Services is seeking an organized, professional, and energetic individual to serve as Office Associate. Under direction, works independently to determine appropriate DCFS codes and MARS/CYCIS screens for inputting information regarding placement payment, case registration, case opening, case assignment, case closing, case transfer, and medical eligibility.
- Utilizing a Department computer, works independently to determine appropriate DCFS codes and MARS/CYCIS screens for inputting information regarding placement payment, case registration, case opening, case assignment, case closing, case transfer, and medical eligibility
- Keyboards and prepares a variety of complex materials, including, but not limited to detailed data entry, highly technical reports, Department forms, and correspondence
- Utilizing independent judgment, responds to inquiries from caregivers, private agencies, and all levels of DCFS staff; provides technical explanations and interpretations of program operations, policies, rules, and regulations; conducts research to provide resolutions.
- Maintains confirmation logs and other records pertaining to payment and case tracking and assignment transactions
- Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of high school
- Requires 2 years of office experience
- Requires ability to keyboard accurately at 45 wpm
- Requires working knowledge of legal, social, and medical terminology
