Position Overview
Under administrative direction, Assists in planning, directing, organizing, evaluating, and formulating policies and procedures. Manages and directs the planning, scheduling, organizing, and coordinating of the assignments for the examinations/audits to be conducted by staff. Serves as working supervisor. Promptly reviews and travels to investigate consumer complaints/investigations related to the Section. Manages and directs the review of trustee bank accounts. Conducts on-site examinations and interviews relative to licensing of Section applicants. Conducts and attends internal and external meetings regarding the Section and attends training seminars.

Essential Functions
- Assists in planning, directing, organizing, evaluating, and formulating policies and procedures for the administration of the statewide Section programs by providing input and suggested courses of action regarding the Section.

Manages and directs the planning, scheduling, organizing, and coordinating of the assignments for the examinations/audits to be conducted by staff.

Serves as working supervisor.
- Promptly reviews and travels to investigate consumer complaints/investigations related to the Section and ensures that an appropriate resolution has been obtained.

Manages and directs the review of trustee bank accounts established for the purpose of liquidating the outstanding money order liability for currency exchanges ceasing business operations.

Conducts on-site examinations and interviews relative to licensing of Section applicants.

Conducts and attends internal and external meetings regarding the Section and attends training seminars offered by Department and national associations as necessary and directed by Supervisor.

Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
Minimum Qualifications
- Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to the completion of four years of college supplemented by coursework in accounting and/or finance.
- Requires three years of professional progressively responsible administrative experience in accounting, finance, or related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prefers at least six years of experience auditing or examining financial institutions.
- Prefers at least six years of experience working in banking, credit unions, financial institutions or similar.
- Prefers at least four years of experience as an executive or manager of a financial institution.
- Prefers a Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Accounting, or similar; or possession of an active Certified Public Accountant licensure.
