Position Overview

IDFPR is seeking a candidate with a fiscal background willing to provide leadership in the Division of Banking. In this role, you will serve as a leader in our Corporate Applications Program.

Job Responsibilities

  • Organizes, plans, executes, controls, and evaluates the operation of the Department’s upstate Corporate Applications Program
  • Conducts financial analysis and provides peer related financial information to determine the reasonableness of the anticipated results of bank mergers and consolidations, purchase and assumption transactions, charter amendments, granting of dividends, reverse stock splits, quasi-reorganizations, formations of subchapter "s" corporations, formation of interim banks, de novo applications and other complex financial transactions; maintains confidentiality of such items

  • Conducts meetings with applicants and legal counsel, other state and federal regulatory agencies to review, implement, and evaluate Department policies and procedures

  • Assists in the review of reports of examinations assigned to the Banks, Trust Companies and Savings Institutions Section in the Division of Banking

  • Responds to oral and written inquiries involving safety and soundness issues, compliance and other regulatory issues

  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above

Minimum Qualifications

  • Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of four years of college with courses in accounting, corporate finance, banking and monetary theory
  • Requires three years of professional accounting, banking or auditing experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prefers at least six years of experience in accounting, banking, auditing, or similar
  • Prefers at least six years of experience in the regulation of banks, financial institutions, or similar
  • Prefers a Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance, or similar field

Employment Conditions

  • Requires the ability to pass an Agency-conducted background check
