Job Responsibilities

1.    Processes a variety of general, industrial, mechanical or office supply items
•    Maintains inventory and other records of stock received and issued
•    Receives, records, stores, and distributes stock or equipment to authorized staff
•    Maintains reports for all items received in the storeroom, ensuring that inventory corresponds with receiving reports
•    Organizes and maintains the inventory of commodities and supplies
•    Estimates stock needs and assists with preparation of orders for stock, replacement
•    Maintains records incidental to perpetual inventories
•    Initiates emergency purchases of minor items as authorized


2.    Serves as working supervisor
•    Assigns and review work
•    Provides guidance and training to assigned staff
•    Counsels staff regarding work performance

3.    Assembles, packs, transports, or arranges for transporting of requisitioned good or materials to facility staff 

  • Issues, delivers and/or retrieves supplies to/from designated areas according to an approved requisition   
  • Operates materials handling equipment  such as hand trucks, dollies, scales etc.
  • Acquires required signatures on approved requisition forms


4.    Estimates stocks needs and prepares requisitions for stock replacement as required
•    Maintains records of all received items
•    Participates in the inventory process of commodities and supplies on intermittent and annual basis


5.    Maintains the General Stores for clean and efficient environment
•    Maintains records incidental to accumulation of costs
•    Develops efficient store methods in allocation of proper bins or storage place
•    Assists in the maintenance of the facility stores/stock system to ensure an efficient operation


6.   Inspect received shipments for damage and accurate items and quantity
•    Makes necessary transportation arrangement for return shipments
•    Prepares shipping documents


7.   Performs other duties s required or assigned which are reasonably with the scope of the duties

Minimum Qalifications

1.    Knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of four years high school
2.    One (1) year experience in the keeping of stores and stores records


Preferred Qualification

1.    Working knowledge of storeroom and warehouse methods, procedures, inventory, record keeping and controls
2.    One (1) year of experience supervising and instructing others in stock handling duties
3.    One (1) year of experience preparing stock records and reports
4.    One (1) year of experience determining quality of goods against prescribed specifications
5.    One (1) year of experience performing arduous labor

Conditions of Employment

1.    Must meet all agency vaccine/health-related policies and guidance
2.    Must complete a drug screen and pre-employment physical
3.    Must pass a background check
4.    Able to bend, stoop, twist, stand and walk for protracted periods of time, use fine and gross hand manipulation
5.    Able to reach, bend, push, pull, and lift up to 50 pounds unassisted
6.    Overtime is a condition of employment, and you may be required/mandated to work overtime including scheduled, unscheduled, or last-minute overtime
