Position Description and Responsibilities

 

Under direction of the Clinical Services Supervisor (Public Service Administrator), performs a vareity of complex specialized clerical assistance for the Clinical/Field Service staff and Substance Abuse Administrator, including composing, keyboarding, transciption and filing of correspondence, records and other documents; provides assistance in maintaining records in accordance to record retention schedules; maintains confidentiality of information and records in the department.

 

35%      Performs a variety of clerical tasks for Fireld Services to maintain the daily operations of the Field Services Unit.

 

30%      Maintains Master and Medical files of offenders who are on Mandatory Supervised Release, including filing and organizational structures.

 

15%      Services as the contact person for the Social Security Administration.

 

15%      Provides clerical support to the Clinical Services Department and the Substance Abuse Program Administrator.

 

05%      Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.

 

Minimum Qualifications

 

  1. Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of high school and two years of office experience.
  2. Requires extensive knowledge office practices, procedures and programs.
  3. Requires extensive knowledge of composition, grammar, spelling and punctuation.
  4. Requires working knowledge of basic mathematics.
  5. Requires elementary knowledge of agency programs, rules and regulations.
  6. Requires abilit to follow oral or written instructions.
  7. Requires ability to operate commonly used manual and automated office equipment and perform routine maintenance.
  8. Requires the ability to keyboard accurately at 45wpm.

 

Conditions of Employment

 

  1. Requires the ability to pass the Illinois Department of Corrections background check.
  2. Requires ability to pass a drug screen.  On January 1, 2020, the Cannabis Regulation and Tax Act made it legal for residents over the age of 21 to produce, consume and sell cannabis in Illinois.  Please note that although the law has changed, the Department will continue to enforce the Department's zero tolerance Drug Testing policy.  The use of unauthorized drugs, including cannabis, by an employee, regardless of the position held, is prohibited.
