Position Overview
Under general supervision of the Business Manager, performs technical accounting work in preparing, maintaining, processing, and reconciling vouchers, documents and records manually and by utilizing the Accounting Information System {AIS).
Job Responsibilities
- Reconciles vendor invoices against appropriate Receiving reports examining invoices for billing errors.
- Prepares data entry forms for manual vouchers and enters into AIS, assigns voucher numbers for manual vouchers from log.
- Serve as backup to Procurement, the Imprest Fund and related journals for released offenders.
- Perform other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
Minimum Qualifications
- Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of two years college and completion of an approved training course or three years of related clerical bookkeeping experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Requires working knowledge of accounting techniques.
- Requires working knowledge of state or non-state accounting procedures.
- Requires working knowledge of office methods and procedures
- Requires working knowledge of principles and functions of standard office accounting machines and equipment.

- Requires the ability to pass the IDOC/IDJJ background check.
