Position Overview

The Illinois Department of Children and Family Services is seeking an organized, professional, and energetic individual to serve as Regional Contract Support Staff.  Under general supervision, this position will receive, review, and process various day care related forms from private agencies, workers, and clients to provide requested day care services for eligible clients. The position will contact clients and providers to establish fees and reimbursement rates and conduct client self-certification process and recertification to initiate continued services.  The position will also audit, review, monitor, and complete monitoring and service level data reports regarding day care clients and providers and associated billing.  This position provides a great opportunity for someone who is detail oriented and focused on ensuring the Department receives the greatest value for its contract dollars.  DCFS offers a competitive compensation plan, excellent benefits, and a pension program.  The ideal candidate for this position will have excellent organizational skills and communication capabilities.  We invite you to join our innovative team to help make a positive difference in the lives of the children and families of Illinois.

Essential Functions

  • Serves as Contract Support Staff
  • Audits, reviews, monitors, and completes monitoring and service level data reports regarding day care clients and providers and associated billing
  • Serves as a resource for Department and private agency staff, day care providers, clients, and foster parents regarding day care policies, procedures, and payment regulations
  • Maintains complex information systems of monitoring and service delivery data and develops various reports as assigned, performing all related functions in a timely manner
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above

Minimum Qualifications

  • Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to the completion of high school
  • Requires two years of experience in a community serviced by a demonstration project or a similar community experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Requires experience of residence in the community serviced by the demonstration project or a similar community
  • Requires meaningful work experience which has contributed to the development of the following knowledge skills and abilities:
  • working knowledge of community conditions
  • working knowledge of community organizations
  • ability to participate in planning and program design
  • ability to communicate ideas in written and oral form requires ability to use computer and software requires possession of a valid driver's license and ability to travel
