Job Responsibilities
Under direct supervision, assists with the preparation and serving of food items for the patients; performs cleaning and maintenance work in the food service area; assists with the stocking of food items.
SPECIFICALLY:
35% Performs routine food service tasks in the kitchen. Assists in the preparation of the food for cooking and in cooking operations and serving food items for patients. Cleans and prepares fruits and vegetables. Utilizes peeler, food choppers, steam kettle, blenders, food processors, and vertical cutters to slice, dice, and chop food. Lifts prepared food pans and cartons onto delivery carts.
35% Cleans and sanitizes pots, pans, and cooking utensils manually and in dish washer. Cleans and maintains sanitary standards of kitchen and storerooms by washing, mopping, dusting, walls, windows, appliances, fixtures, lights, hoods, ceilings and equipment.
20% Lifts and carries food items from carts to freezer, from freezer to shelving, and from preparation area to carts for transportation to other work areas. Dates, labels, and stores food supplies in pantry, walk-ins and freezers.
5% Instructs or directs students and other workers assigned to the dietary department in the preparation of rood items.
5% Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
Minimum Qualifications
Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent completion of High School supplemented by six months experience in the support service: functional area to which assigned.
Work Hours: 12:00 PM - 8:00 PM and 6:00 AM - 2:00 PM
