Essential Functions

1.  Under immediate supervision and on a temporary basis not to exceed 6 months, assists Site Interpreters in delivering the site interpretive programs in all weather conditions:

  •  Greets visitors
  •  Conducts foot tours
  •  Helps set up and maintain site exhibits and special events
  •  Distributes literature
  •  Responds to questions from public
  •  Helps set up tables, chairs, displays, and equipment for special events and craft demonstrations
  •  Travels to other sites as needed.

2.  Assists in the research and development of interpretive programs and materials:

  •  Assists in outreach programming
  •  Participates in care of period agriculture and livestock programs
  •  Dresses and interprets in provided period correct attire as needed

3.  Performs routine housekeeping duties:

  •  Dusts and cleans furniture and artifacts using approved curatorial techniques and materials
  •  Vacuums
  •  Picks up trash
  •  Washes windows
  •  Cleans exhibits and displays
  •  Cleans and disinfects restrooms
  •  Replace supplies

4.  Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.

Minimum Qualification

Required Knowledge, skills, and mental development equivalent to completion of eight years of elementary school. High school diploma preferred.

4. Ability to travel as needed.

8. Ability to walk over rough or broken terrain.
