Position Overview
The Division of Mental Health is seeking to hire an Account Technician I for the Madden Mental Health Center located in Hines, Illinois to serve as a payroll/timekeeping technician for the Madden Mental Health Center. Serves as a facility timekeeper and payroll officer for an assigned area. Serves as back-up to the Business Office. Performs technical accounting work for Personnel Services and related expenditures.
Essential Functions
- Serves as a payroll/timekeeping technician for Madden Mental Health Center.
- Serves as a payroll officer.
- Assists with various functions in areas of Personnel Services, including employee schedules.
- Serves as a back-up to the Business Office by performing technical accounting work.
- Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
Minimum Qualifications
- Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of two (2) years of college and completion of an approved training course or three (3) years of related clerical bookkeeping experience.
*Qualifying state employees in the employee Upward Mobility Program may complete combinations of specific proficiency tests and training programs leading to a certificate of proficiency in lieu of the stated requirements for this class.
Conditions of Employment
- Requires ability to attend and pass all mandatory training sessions, workshops, and conferences.
- Requires the ability to work after business hours, weekends, and holidays.
- Requires the ability to utilize office equipment, including personal computers.
- Requires ability to pass the IDHS background check.
- Requires ability to pass a drug screen for drugs prohibited from recreational use under Illinois Law.
