Position Overview
The Division of Behavioral Health and Recovery is seeking to hire a Business Administrative Specialist for the Madden Mental Health Center located in Hines, Illinois to coordinate the fiscal, business and service operations of an assigned unit or units within the Madden Mental Health Center. Serves as designated lead worker. Establishes contracts for goods and services utilizing the State’s BidBuy procurement software or equivalent system. Assists in the planning and development of Madden Mental Health’s budget.
Essential Functions
- Coordinates the fiscal, business and service operations of an assigned unit or units within the Madden Mental Health Center.
- Establishes contracts for goods and services utilizing the State’s BidBuy procurement software or equivalent system.
- Serves as designated lead worker.
- Assists in the planning and development of the Madden Mental Health Center’s budget and other budgetary reports.
- Works closely with staff on special projects as assigned.
- Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
Minimum Qualifications
- Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of four (4) years of college with a major in business administration or a related field.
- Requires one (1) year of progressively responsible business experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Two (2) years of professional experience coordinating fiscal, business and service operations for a public or private organization.
- Two (2) years of professional experience establishing contracts for goods and services for a public or private organization.
- Two (2) years of professional experience assisting in the planning and development of budgets and other budgetary reports.
- Two (2) years of professional experience training and directing staff engaged in business and service functions for a public or private organization.
- Two (2) years of professional experience communicating effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Two (2) years of basic proficiency in computer software applications such as Microsoft, Word, Excel, etc.
Conditions of Employment
- Requires the ability to utilize office equipment including personal computers.
- Requires ability to pass the IDHS background check.
- Requires ability to pass a drug screen for drugs prohibited from recreational use under Illinois Law.
