Job Responsibilities


Under general supervison of the Corrections Supply Supervisor 3, recieves and stores items in the various store operations including Clothing, Mechanical, Supply, General Stores; receives, sorts, and distributes merchandise and equipment ; enforces and maintains disciplinary safety, security and custodial measures; monitors inmates engaged in store functions

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

 

  • Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of high school or completion of an approved training course. 
  • Requires 2 years experience in keeping of stores and keeping store records.
  • Requires thorough knowledge of institutional rules, regulations and requirements for the control of inmates.
  • Requires working knowledge of storekeeping and warehousing methods and procedures.
  • Requires working knowledge of inventory and other control methods and procedures.
  • Requires working knowledge of transportation agencies and of shipping, purchasing and requisitioning methods and procedures.
  • Requires completion of approved course in guard training within 6 months of employment..
  • Requires physical ability to enforce disciplinary, safety, security and custodial measures at all times.
  • Requires physical ability to carry out duties as assigned.

  • Requires completion of an approved course in guard training within six months of employment.

Requires the ability to pass the IDOC/IDJJ background check.

Education Degree
