Position Overview
The Division of Rehabilitation Services is seeking to hire an organized and detail-oriented Office Coordinator to perform paraprofessional or technical secretarial and office support functions for the Illinois School for the Deaf Outreach program, proportionate to current funding. The Office Coordinator orchestrates all logistical aspects of trainings and workshops, including site arrangements, scheduling, and registration. The incumbent creates, formats, and adapts exhibits and promotional materials for conferences and events. The Office Coordinator serves as host for Webinars and web meetings. This position utilizes manual communication skills to communicate with individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing.
Essential Functions
- Performs paraprofessional or technical secretarial and office support functions for the Illinois School for the Deaf Outreach program.
- Orchestrates all logistical aspects of trainings and workshops, including site arrangements, scheduling, and registration.
- Creates, formats, and adapts exhibits and promotional materials for conferences and events.
- Serves as host and technical support for webinars and web meetings using programs such as Webex, MS Teams and Zoom.
- Performs other duties as assigned or required which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
Minimum Qualifications
- Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to two (2) years of secretarial/business college.OR Completion of high school and two (2) years of related office experience. OR Two (2) years of independent business experience.
- Requires the ability to communicate utilizing sign language at the Intermediate Plus (Sign Language Proficiency Interview (SLPI).
Conditions of Employment
- Requires ability to travel overnight.
- Requires the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Requires ability to create documents, training materials and host webinars and web meetings utilizing programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Zoom and Webex.

Requires ability to pass the IDHS background check.

Requires ability to pass a drug screen for drugs prohibited from recreational use under Illinois Law.
