Position Overview

The Division of Family and Community Services is seeking to hire a receptionist to perform a variety of difficult and responsible clerical functions and assistance including filing, keyboarding, record processing, secretarial and general office support in the local office in Will County.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Serves as receptionist, answers telephone and transfers call, retrieves messages from local office general voice mail box and distributes to staff.
  2. Opens, sorts, and distributes incoming mail including incoming correspondences from customers and applicants, drop box items, faxes, and Springfield mailing of reports.
  3. Keyboards and prepares a variety of routine forms, travel vouchers, customer forms, form letters, cards and records.
  4. Serves as timekeeper, prepares and maintains time and attendance records and reports.
  5. Issues new or replacement LINK cards to customers, maintains records of card numbers issued or voided, completes computerized transactions to communicate activation of card to Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) contractor.
  6. Maintains files or forms, reports, supplies, brochures and records.
  7. Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.

Minimum Qualifications

  1. Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of high school.
  2. Requires one (1) year related office experience.
  3. Requires ability to keyboard at 35 wpm.

Work Hours:  Mon - Fri, 8:30am - 5:00pm
