Position Overview
Under direct supervision, performs routine, repetitive unskilled manual tasks associated with support services at Shapiro Center, including exterior building and campus clean-up including lawn care and snow removal, dietary tasks including meal distribution and clean-up, laundry tasks, housekeeping and clothing services. Uses and performs simple maintenance on standard equipment and machinery, ensuring compliance with Public Health standards, facility and department policies and procedures. Completes simple clerical tasks including completing work orders, supply orders and routine logs and reports.
Job Responsibilities
1. Performs routine, repetitive unskilled manual tasks associated with support services, including exterior building and campus clean-up, lawn care and snow removal, dietary tasks including meal distribution and clean-up, laundry tasks, housekeeping and clothing services. Follows Public Health standards, facility and department policies and established procedures, to ensure the timely and accurate completion of services. Monitors assigned schedule, following up with supervisor regarding any issues which arise while completing assigned duties.
2. Uses and performs simple maintenance on standard equipment and machinery, ensuring compliance with Public Health standards, facility and department policies and procedures. Uses maintenance equipment and machinery to sweep, scrub, mop, strip, seal, wax and buff floors. Follows facility safety precautions in the use and handling of supplies, tools, equipment and machinery while working in and around residential and training sites. Sweeps and thoroughly cleans and sanitizes bathrooms, halls, stairs and living areas. Washes walls, windows, water fountains, mirrors, polishes woodwork, cleans light fixtures and heating and air conditioner vents. Dusts assigned areas and removes trash from waste baskets ensuring proper disposal of trash and infectious waste.
3. Completes simple clerical tasks including completing work orders, supply orders and routine logs and reports. Maintains adequate supplies for assigned areas, keeps records and inventories and submits work and supply orders, ensuring for proper rotation of stock. Notifies supervisor of physical plant, dietary or clothing deficiencies. Performs simple maintenance of standard equipment and machinery.
4. Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
Minimum Qualifications
- Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of High School supplemented by six months experience in the support service functional area to which assigned.
Conditions of Employment
- Requires the ability to meet all agency vaccine/health-related policies and guidance.
- Requires ability to pass the Illinois Department of Human Services background check.
- Requires ability to pass a drug screen for drugs prohibited from recreational use under Illinois Law.
Work Hours: 6:30am - 3:00pm, Rotating days off
