Position Overview

 

Under general direction of the Business Administrator (Public Service Administrator); plans, directs and coordinates the purchasing, vouchering, and payroll; reviews facility policies and procedures to ensure business office operations are in compliance with standard, accounting system, purchasing act and Corrections fiscal directives; Supervises staff; assigns and reviews work. Serves as facility form coordinator.

 

Job Responsibilities

 

  1. Completes purchasing documents to provide for delivery of goods and services.
  2. Serves as working supervisor.
  3. Monitors the preparation of vouchers.
  4. Assists in the preparation of the institution budget including planning and budgeting for additional personnel and assisting other department heads in preparation of annual budget.
  5. Reviews facility policies and procedures to ensure business office operations are in compliance with standard, accounting system, purchasing act and Corrections fiscal directives.
  6. Serves as facility form coordinator, processes form requests ensuring printing orders are scheduled and processed.
  7. Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.

 

Minimum Qualifications

 

  1. Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of four (4) years of college with a major in business administration or a related field.
  2. Requires two (2) years professional business experience such as might be obtained as a Business Administrative Specialist; or successful completion of a training course approved by the agency.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

 

  • Requires extensive knowledge of the fundamental principles of modern business administration.
  • Requires extensive knowledge of the functions of state government and employing agency.
  • Requires ability to plan and direct fiscal and business services.
