Job Responsibilities

 

Under general supervision of the Public Service Administrator (Assistant Director of Nursing) performs keyboarding and clerical work involving completion of reports, forms and work orders, keyboarding correspondence and reports; performs other responsible clerical duties necessary for assigned nursing unit.   

 

1.  Prepares, keyboarding, and/or addressographs paper forms for new admissions, deaths and discharges. 

 

2.  Files patient information in medical chart, thins patient medical charts per procedure and sends to medical records.

 

3.  Requisition for medical and unit supplies, assists in putting away supplies, completes work orders for repairs and submits to supervisor for review. 

 

4.  Prepares and monitors timekeeping folders for employees.    

 

5. Keyboarding, Xerox and shreds material for the nursing units as needed. 

 

6.  Perform other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.

 

Minimum Qualifications

 

  • Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of high school and one year of related office experience.
  • Requires the ability to type accurately 35 words per minute.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

 

  • Requires working knowledge of alpha-numeric sequencing.
  • Requires working knowledge of office practices, procedures and programs. 
  • Requires working knowledge of grammar, spelling and punctuation.
  • Requires working knowledge of basic mathematics. 
  • Requires ability to follow oral and/or written instructions. 
  • Requires ability to operate commonly used manual and automated office equipment and perform routine maintenance. 
  • Requires skill in keyboarding accurately and having a written and spoken knowledge of the English language.

  • Overtime is a condition of employment and you may be required/mandated to work overtime including scheduled, unscheduled or last-minute overtime.
