Position Description and Responsibilities

 

Under general supervision of the Accountant Supervisor, performs technical work assisting with processing accounting functions for the Trust Fund.  Serves as back-up for maintaining employee timekeeping records in the absence of a Timekeeper.

 

35%       Inputs cash receipts for miscellaneious cash collection into the computer

 

35%       Reconciles imprest box, reconciles inmate commissary sliips with Fiscal Accounting Commissary Trust System Daily Invoice Report for further processing.

 

25%       Serves as back-up to Timekeeper.

 

05%       Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.

 

Minimum Requirements

 

  1. Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of two years of college and completion of an approved training course or three years of related clerical bookkeeping experience.
  2. Requires working knowledge of accounting techniques.
  3. Requires working knowledge of state or non-state accounting procedures.
  4. Requires working knowledge of office methods and procedures.
  5. Requires working knowledge of principles and functions of standard office accounting machines and equipment.

 

Conditions of Employment

 

  1. Requires the ability to pass the Illinois Department of Corrections background check.
  2.
