Job Responsibilities

Under general direction of the Business Manager, maintains a complete record of all state property equipment as to its value and location for the facility.

  1. Prepares asset shells and submits for approval; checks description and specifications against order; enters property information into the ERP/SAP system
  2. Prepares reports as required and submits to the Asset Administrator on all fixed assets, including receipts, tranfers in/out, deletions and location changes; collects and stores all property that is placed on the surplus list to be sent to the CMS warehouse; schedules surplus trips to dispose of property according to established procedures.
  3. Records all transactions regarding state property such as posting all new equipment to addition register and all condemned, transferrable and surplus property to deduct in register; posts all transactions to inventory location 
  4. Works in the General Stores area as needed and directed by the Storekeeper 3 to include but not limited to:  unloading of trucks and delivery of supplies
  5. Moves state property, items that are required to be tagged, within the facility as requested by the Property Movement work order.  Property movement may include carrying, lifting, pushing, pulling, walking, squatting, and other body movements along with objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
  6. Checks receiving specifications and prepares notification of land, building, and other asset transactions; participates int he annual property inventory
  7. Works with facility personnel and members regarding State Property Control Act; instructs them regarding their responsibility int he control of fixed assets or property.
  8. Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
     

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Requires thorough knowledge of the rules and regulations of the State Property Control Act.
  • Requires ability to plan, organize and supervise the activities of property control personnel.
  • Requires ability to interpret and evaluate property assets, their depreciation and condemnation.
  • Requires ability to maintain accurate records and prepare accurate inventory reports.
  • Requires ability to maintain satisfactory working relationships with department staff and subordinates.

  • Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of�� four years of high school and two years of clerical and bookkeeping experience.
