Position Overview - Military Range Training Land Progam Coordinator
The Department of Military Affairs is looking to hire a Military Range Training Land Program Coordinator located at Marseilles Training Area. This position is under the direction of the Program Manager for Base Operations updates and manages the multi-year installation-level Master Plans for Range Training Land Program (RTLP) and Integrated Training Area Management (ITAM) based on the Military, Federal, and State rules, regulations, and guidelines for Marseilles Training Center (MTC) and Sparta Training Area (STA). The Department of Military Affairs works with the members of the Illinois Air and Army National Guard. We welcome all interested applicants to apply.
Essential Functions
- Update and manage the multi-year installation-level Master Plans for Range Training Land Program (RTLP) and Integrated Training Area Management (ITAM) based on the Military, Federal, and State rules, regulations, and guidelines for Marseilles Training Center (MTC) and Sparta Training Area (STA).
- Input and updated RTLP and ITAM plans into the Range Complex Master Plan Tool (RCMPT) to validate projects, forecast funding requirements, and close completed projects.
- Conduct site visits for planning and development of Range Surface Danger Zones.
- Operate equipment required for execution of RTLP and ITAM projects.
- Performs additional duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties indicated above.
Minimum Qualifications
- Requires previous experience in training site operations.
- Requires the ability to write correspondence and reports; use computer system (MS Office Applications).
- Requires willingness and ability to maintain information security and positive working relationships with department management and staff.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prefers knowledge of US Army regulations regarding training site operations.
- Prefers ability to develop operating budgets of the RTLP/ITAM at the program level.
- Prefers ability to obtain and solicit relevant information/data from people.
Employment Conditions
- Requires active or retired (20 years) membership in the Illinois National Guard or retired (minimum 20 years) US Armed forces, if last duty assignment was with the Illinois National Guard.
- Requires red/green color discrimination.
- Required to have and maintain a valid Illinois drivers' license.
- Requires ability to travel in the performance of duties, with overnight stays as appropriate.
