Position Overview

 The Contractor shall oversee all operations of the Metamora Courthouse including on-site operations, site interpretation, oversight of volunteers, site projects, inventory, maintenance, and reporting.  

Job Responsibilities

  1. Greet visitors and conduct tours and interpretive presentations.
  2. Care for and inventory site equipment, furnishings, and artifacts.
  3. Maintain site building and grounds.
  4. Give presentations to groups and organizations, operates AV equipment and computers.
  5. Prepare reports on attendance, donations, collects invoices to validate and submit for payment to accounting.
  6. Secures building at the end of the day.
  7. Provide supervision of subordinate staff and volunteers, prepare and submit performance evaluations.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Requires knowledge, skill and mental development eqivalent to an Associates degree in History, Archaeology, Anthopology, Liberal Arts, or Museum Studies; site interpretive experience may be substituted for college education.
  • Prefer local knowledge of site with interest in history.
  • Prefer public speaking experience.
  • Requires ability to perform light maintenance duties.
