Position Overview

Under general supervision, serves as a receptionist in a local office in the Division of Family & Community Services, Department of Human Services (DHS). Performs a variety of difficult and responsible clerical functions and assistance including filing, keyboarding, record processing, secretarial and general office support functions.

Job Responsibilities

1. Serves as a receptionist.

 

2. Keyboards and prepares a variety of routine forms, travel vouchers, medical vouchers, client vouchers, form letters, cards, and records.

 

3. Maintains files of forms, reports, and supplies.

 

4. Issues new or replacement LINK cards to clients, maintains records of card numbers issued or voided, completes computerized transactions to communicate activation of card to Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) contractor.

 

5. Submits monthly reports on copiers, postage, supplies, and other tracking reports. Operates such common office equipment as personal computer, typewriters, copy/scan/fax machines, and postage machine.

 

6. Serves as back-up timekeeper.

 

7. Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.

Minimum Qualifications

  1. Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of high school and one year of related office experience.
  2. Requires ability to keyboard accurately at 35 wpm.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Requires working knowledge of alpha-numeric sequencing; working knowledge of office procedures, practices, and ability to operate commonly used office equipment.

Work Hours:  8:30am-5:00pm Monday-Friday
