The Bureau of Support Services is seeking an employee to fulfill the role of Office Assistant by bringing positive energy to the workplace and providing support for the Bureau of Support Services operations.  This position will be an active member of the Illinois Department of Agriculture (IDOA) team. The ideal candidate will courteous and enjoy helping people.  The individual must be highly organized and have great attention to detail. Job Responsibilities

  1.  Performs a variety of difficult and responsible clerical duties, keyboards spreadsheets and complex office support functions.
  2. Performs as the guest operations assistant for the Illinois Department of Agriculture (IDOA) 
  3. Performs primary coverage for the guest services receptionist for the Illinois Department of Agriculture (IDOA)
  4. Serves as the Bureau of Support Services bureau operations assistant. 
  5. Serves as the assistant of the Print Shop for the Illinois Department of Agriculture (IDOA)
  6. Serves as the assistant of the Telecommunications Coordinator for the Illinois Department of Agriculture (IDOA)
  7. Serves as the assistant of the Fleet Coordinator for the Illinois Department of Agriculture (IDOA)
  8. Serves as a backup for the Bureau of Support Services agency operations
  9. Performs other duties as assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.

 

Minimum Qualifications

1. Requires knowledge, skills and mental development equivalent to completion of high school and one year of related office experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Prefers experience in supporting the functions of agency operations.
  2. Prefers experience with Microsoft Office Suite
  3. Prefers experience with supporting fleet coordination.
  4. Prefers experience with professional telecommunications systems.
  5. Prefers experience with records retention. 

 

Conditions of Employment

1. Requires the ability to successfully pass a background check.

2.Requires the possession of a valid driver’s license to drive state vehicle(s) to and from CMS State garage and other approved providers for vehicle maintenance, repairs and car washes/cleanings.
