Position Overview
This position is responsible for the preparation of right-of-way plats, plans, legal descriptions, and related documents and drawings concerned with land acquisition and condemnation. It is also responsible for the review of plats and plans prepared by consultants.
Essential Functions
- Assists with preparation of plats and plans and related documents.
- Ensures that all time frames established for the preparation of plats and plans are adhered to.
- Ensures right-of-way strip maps are accurate.
- Ensures that all plats, legal descriptions, title work, and survey data is completed in a timely manner to minimize delays in processing excess land requests.
- Performs all duties in compliance with departmental rules, regulations, and safety work practices. Performs all duties in a manner conducive to the fair and equitable treatment of all employees.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Current registration as a licensed Professional Land Surveyor in Illinois; OR completion of a bachelor's degree in land surveying from an accredited college or university, successful completion of the Fundamentals of Surveying examination or Surveyor Intern license PLUS one year of experience in the practice of land surveying; OR completion of a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a related science including 24 semester hours of land surveying courses, successful completion of the Fundamentals of Surveying examination or Surveyor Intern license PLUS one year of experience in the practice of land surveying.
Preferred Qualifications
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Problem solving skills.
